DRCC has produced a new resource to give an overview of an important new law on online Harassment. Also known as 'Coco's Law',  the new legislation creates new offences on distributing images without consent as well as updating the law on harassment.

The Harassment, Harmful Communications and Related Offences Act 2020 was signed into law on 28 December 2020. It has been brought into force by order of the Minister for Justice on 9 February 2021. This Act

  • amends the law relating to harassment
  • creates new offences to deal with the non-consensual distribution of intimate images, both online and offline
  • provides anonymity for the victims of those offences.

You can download or read the DRCC overview from our resource section.
