- Only 3.4% of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre clients who experienced childhood sexual violence did not know the perpetrator.
- Only 11% of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre clients who experienced adulthood sexual violence did not know the perpetrator.

SATU data: Relationship of victim with assailant
Sexual Assault Treatment Units provide specialised medical care after sexual violence. They offer forensic examinations where evidence is gathered following a sexual assault or rape.
The below graph shows the relationship between attendees to a SATU in 2023 and the perpetrators of violence against them.
In recent years, SATUs have reported an increase in physical violence in addition to the sexual violence with which patients are presenting.
