DRCC's first self-directed online courses available for free in eLearning Hub
19 August 2026

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has launched three free, self-directed online courses open to anyone over 18, covering consent, common misconceptions about sexual violence, and how parents can talk to their children about what they see online.
The courses, Introduction to Consent, Misconceptions About Sexual Violence, and Let's Chat: Your Child's Life Online, each take 30 to 45 minutes and can be completed at the learner's own pace, in one sitting or over several visits. Certificates are provided on completion, and the courses are free of charge.
The launch marks the first time Dublin Rape Crisis Centre's education expertise, built over more than 40 years of working with victims/survivors of sexual violence, has been made available to the public in a self-directed online format. Until now, the organisation's training has been delivered live to professionals, volunteers and groups.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre’s Education and Training Manager, Caitriona Freir, said "We know that many people want to understand these issues better, whether they are parents trying to start a conversation at home, someone supporting a friend, or simply a person who wants to be sure of what consent really means.
“Not everyone can attend live training. These courses mean that anyone, anywhere in Ireland, can access that knowledge for free, committing less than an hour whenever it suits them. These issues are really important in our society, and we believe the courses will be helpful people for seeking to have more confidence in challenging false beliefs about sexual violence and in supporting others and themselves."
The courses are aimed at the general public and may be of particular value to parents, educators, youth workers, healthcare professionals, sporting organisations and employers.
The courses are available now at drcc.learnupon.com/store and more information is on our eLearning Hub page.
Anyone affected by sexual violence of any form, at any time, can get free and confidential support on the 24-hour National Helpline 1800 77 8888.
