16 Days of Activism 2023
25 November 2023, 8:00am - 11 December 2023, 11:59pm
This year, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is marking the annual worldwide 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence from 25 November to 10 December by releasing short videos across our social media channels, highlighting the ways we all can invest our time, knowledge & skills in Ireland, survivors and each other.
While gender-based violence impacts all genders, women are disproportionately the victims/survivors of it. In Ireland, 84% of callers to the 24-hour National Rape Crisis Helpline in 2022 were women (DRCC Annual Report 2022)
This global campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness and show support for those who experience Gender-Based Violence. 16 Days allows us to show solidarity among those working to prevent gender-based violence, to strengthen the work being done, and to call for action from those who can effect change.
This year the theme is UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls. We all can invest in a better, safer Ireland.
