Turn off the Silence

Turn off the Silence by Mundy & Roisin O

We are delighted to announce that two of Ireland’s most popular Irish Musicians, Mundy and Danny O’ Reilly from The Coronas have given their support to the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre by collaborating on a new single to help generate much needed funds for the charity.  The Song is now available to download from iTunes :

The emotional and powerful song ‘Turn off the Silence’ has now been recorded by Mundy & Roisin O.  The soulful interpretation of the compassionate lyrics highlights how victims of abuse can feel, and who they can confide in for healing.  “So many stories that haven’t been told, but the minute you speak you have broken the mould”.

Ellen O’Malley Dunlop CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre spoke of the collaboration  “The Dublin Rape Crisis are so grateful to Mundy, Danny, Roisin and the entire team, who helped produce this song for us.  We are so appreciative of the time which was generously taken from their incredibly busy schedules and we are overwhelmed by the result achieved. We hope the song is a huge success for both the charity and each of the artists.”

‘Turn Off The Silence’  Charity Single is now available on iTunes for €1.29 from Friday, 8th November or people can text DRCC to 50300 to donate €2 today towards our counselling services.

DRCC YOUR Campaign

Calling all Ladies Who Lunge!

Last year the DRCC began a brand new fundraising initiative the ‘YOUR’ campaign.  Rape and sexual abuse can happen to anybody – and at any time.  The statistics show very clearly that all of us must be in contact with victims on a daily basis but perhaps we are never aware.  We must have friends and loved ones harbouring harrowing experiences and the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre provides the only voice for the countless victims that never share their trauma with anyone. These victims are YOUR Sister, YOUR Friend, YOUR Neighbour, YOUR Daughter.

Registration will begin on Wednesday the 19th of February for the 2014 Flora Womens Mini Marathon, and we know that many of our supporters will be dusting off the running shoes and taking to the roads over the next few months, getting themselves in shape for the big day on the June Bank Holiday Monday.

So please run, walk, stroll for TEAM DRCC. Please help us put together our biggest ever team this year and help us spread the message of the YOUR campaign – that it touches the lives of everyone in Ireland, through friends or family members or colleagues.  Each DRCC T-Shirt will carry a message such as:

I’m running for YOUR Sister
I’m running for YOUR Friend
I’m running for YOUR Neighbour
I’m running for YOUR Daughter

So pledge your support and receive your sponsorship card by contacting our fundraising department on 01 66 14 911 or email fundraising@rcc.ie

Don’t forget , you also need to register with the event. You’ll find entry forms in the Evening Herald on Wednesdays and Saturdays, or you can sign up online at the official event website, which is www.florawomensminimarathon.ie. Without your registration number, the organisers will not allow you participate on the day.

Go on run with us for your loved ones and get all your friends to join you!
