Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) has a twofold mission: to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of all forms of sexual violence in Ireland. DRCC provides therapeutic and first response services through the National 24/7 Helpline, face-to-face therapy and a developing online counselling programme. It provides accompaniment and support to those who attend the Rotunda Sexual Assault Treatment Unit, Garda Stations, and the Courts. In addition, it offers education and training programmes for a wide variety of professionals and volunteers who work with those who have experienced sexual violence.

Therapy Lead

We are now inviting applications from a committed and compassionate Trauma Therapist – Therapy Lead to join our management structure within the Therapy Department.

About the Role

You will support the Manager of Therapy Services with the delivery of an efficient and effective client therapy service. You will form part of the management structure of the department, overseeing and supervising a team of therapists. This role involves supporting operations across the Therapy Department and coordinating client services and resources in satellite locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and oversight for case management to ensure best practice in client care.

  • Assessing risk, allocating cases appropriately, and implementing risk management plans.

  • Actively managing the therapy waiting list to ensure equitable and timely access to services.

  • Carrying out line management support, staff supervision, and coordinating team meetings.

  • Undertaking safeguarding responsibilities and acting as a Designated Liaison Officer (DLO).

Terms of Employment:

  • Location: Dublin – onsite work location.

  • Hours of Work: Tuesday to Friday (09:30–17:30) & Saturday (09:00–16:00).

About You

We are seeking an initiative-taker with a solution-minded, client-centred attitude who brings professional excellence and a strong commitment to trauma-informed practice.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in counselling/psychotherapy.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-accreditation experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist with the IACP, IAHIP, or a relevant body within the ICP.

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant supervisory or management experience.

  • Strong experience in case management and managing workloads.

  • Deep knowledge of complex trauma, gender-based violence, and child protection/safeguarding notification procedures.

  • Excellent administrative, report writing, and IT skills, including experience using a CRM system.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A qualification in Clinical Supervision or a Supervisory/Management Qualification.

  • Experience as a designated safeguarding lead.

  • Experience managing budgets, staff, and operational requirements.

  • Experience in policy development and training delivery.

Volunteer Services Coordinator

We are now inviting applications from a motivated and organised Volunteer Services Coordinator to manage and develop our volunteer programme.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations and Administration, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the organisation's volunteer programme, including recruitment, training, line supervision, and recognition. This is a key role in building and sustaining a strong volunteer team that enables DRCC to provide vital support to individuals affected by sexual violence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on organisational needs.

  • Developing recruitment initiatives, managing relationships with universities, and delivering induction and training sessions for new volunteers.

  • Organising volunteer schedules, rotas, and coordinating monthly peer support sessions.

  • Overseeing the DRCC bespoke CRM database input and writing impact and retention reports for senior staff.

  • Researching and updating volunteer policies and procedures, ensuring full GDPR compliance and best practices in safeguarding.

About You

We are seeking a proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work on their own initiative.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in volunteer planning.

  • Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills.

  • Excellent computer literacy with experience using a CRM system.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Desirable criteria:

  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection laws.

  • Digital communication skills, including the use of social media.

Therapy Intake Coordinator

We are now inviting applications from a qualified and compassionate Therapy Intake Coordinator to join our Therapy Services team.

About the Role

As a Therapy Intake Coordinator, you will act as the vital connection between clients and therapists, serving as the essential first point of contact for individuals seeking support. You will guide clients through the intake process, ensuring an efficient, effective, and client-centred experience as they transition from the waiting list to ongoing therapy.

Reporting to the Therapy Lead, your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting full, comprehensive initial clinical assessments and responding to referrals in a timely manner.

  • Assessing client needs, implementing risk management strategies, and matching clients with appropriate therapists.

  • Managing therapist scheduling capacity, booking new client sessions, and regularly monitoring the waiting list.

  • Ensuring accurate input and updating of client data within the CRM system.

  • Providing clinical support and crisis intervention when necessary.

Terms of Employment:

  • Hours: 3 days per week (any combination to include Saturday).

  • Shifts: 8:30am–4:30pm or 9:30am–5:30pm, with one late shift per week from 12:00pm–8:00pm.

About You

We are seeking an empathetic, non-judgemental professional with strong monitoring abilities and the capacity to manage challenging situations with excellent attention to detail.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum degree qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.

  • Full accreditation with IAHIP, IACP, or ICP.

  • Substantial therapeutic experience in the areas of trauma, sexual violence, and abuse.

  • Experience conducting clinical assessments, understanding risk, and managing presenting risk factors.

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years' experience in a counselling or psychotherapeutic practice.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and high-competency IT/CRM systems skills.

  • Salary: €62,000 per annum (Pro-rata for part-time).

Crisis Support Therapist

We are now inviting applications from a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Support Therapist to join our Therapy Services team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Therapy Lead, this role plays a vital part in providing immediate support, stabilization, and guidance to individuals facing acute crises related to sexual violence and child sexual abuse.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing short-term crisis support, immediate therapy, and de-escalation techniques.

  • Conducting risk assessments for suicide, violence, or other potential dangers.

  • Creating and implementing immediate support plans and managing a small number of therapy clients.

  • Providing support for clients on the transfer list and therapy waiting list, and referring clients to long-term care as needed.

  • Maintaining accurate client records, including intake case notes, support plans, and consent forms to the highest standards.

Terms of Employment:

  • Location: Dublin – onsite work location.

  • Hours of Work: 4 days per week (Wednesday to Friday 09:30–17:30 with one late night 12:00–20:00, and Saturday 09:00–16:00).

About You

We are seeking an empathetic, non-judgmental professional who can remain calm and effective in high-pressure, high-stress environments.

Essential requirements:

  • A recognised degree or professional post-graduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy.

  • Full accredited membership with IACP, ICP, or IAHIP.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-accreditation experience in a clinically relevant area.

  • Experience in delivering brief and/or time-limited therapies.

  • Strong understanding of legal and ethical considerations alongside proficiency in crisis intervention techniques.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and basic computer skills.

Desirable criteria:

  • Certifications in crisis intervention or trauma-informed care.

Helpline Team Lead

We are now inviting applications from a motivated and collaborative Helpline Team Lead (Out of Hours) to support our helpline infrastructure.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Helpline Manager, you will proactively support the management and delivery of the National 24-hour Rape Crisis Helpline, including webchat and text services. In this role, you will lead and guide the staff and volunteers assigned to the out-of-hours shifts, ensuring service continuity and an exceptional standard of client care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direction, leadership, and crisis intervention guidance to team members and volunteers.

  • Ensuring full shift cover throughout the out-of-hours period and arranging emergency cover when required.

  • Supporting team members with the emotional demands of frontline work by providing spaces for debriefing and self-care.

  • Analysing call data and feedback to identify trends, issues, and strategic areas for service improvement.

  • Overseeing shift communications across departments and highlighting any relevant Health & Safety issues.

Terms of Employment:

  • Hours: 3 evening shifts per week.

  • Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

About You

We are seeking an experienced supervisor who possesses strong communication skills and the capacity to build resilient relationships within a high-pressure environment.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ supervisory or management experience leading staff and volunteers within a frontline service.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Children’s First Guidance and Legislation, as well as Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding.

  • Strong IT competency, including MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and CRM databases.

  • Access to a suitable, confidential home workstation and high-quality internet connection.

  • High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, and alignment with a trauma-informed approach.

Desirable criteria:

  • Completion of DRCC Volunteer Training.

Helpline Support Worker

We are now inviting applications from dedicated and empathetic individuals to join our National Helpline team as a Helpline Support Worker, Out of Hours.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Helpline Manager , you will provide immediate, empathetic, and confidential telephone support outside of standard business hours via the National 24-Hour Helpline, Webchat, and Text Services. This role focuses on offering active listening, emotional support, and accurate information, while facilitating timely referrals to specialized crisis intervention and psychotherapy services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to calls, webchats, and text messages received through the National Helpline.

  • Providing emotional support and guidance to survivors, family members, friends, and concerned parties.

  • Supporting callers experiencing acute distress, crisis, or suicidal ideation in line with DRCC protocols.

  • Maintaining accurate records, statistics, and case notes on the CRM system during your shift.

  • Working a pre-arranged rota, which includes participating in the out-of-hours emergency backup phone service.

Terms of Employment:

  • Hours: 21 hours per week, on a rolling rota over 7 nights.

  • Shifts: 8-hour overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

About You

We are seeking a professional aligned with DRCC’s mission, values, and trauma-informed approach who can work constructively within a collaborative helpline environment.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience providing direct, frontline support to individuals impacted by sexual violence trauma, or working in a helpline/digital support capacity.

  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and CRM systems.

  • Access to a suitable, confidential home workstation and a high-quality internet connection.

  • Proven high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.

Desirable criteria:

  • Completion of DRCC Volunteer Training is highly desirable.

We recruit volunteers to support our telephone counselling and accompaniment services at various intervals throughout the year. Volunteers are a vital part of our mission to heal the trauma of sexual violence and we rely heavily on their dedication and commitment. No prior experience is needed, we provide full training and expert support.
